Le Groupe Jenaco was awarded the plumbing, heating, and natural gas contract for the major expansion work being done on the École Saint-Joseph in Anjou after a public call for tenders. The project was launched at the beginning of July.

“We are happy to have obtained this public mandate. The way we operate fits perfectly with this type of expansion project that requires a lot of attention from all the actors involved,” said Jean Turgeon, founder and president of the expert building mechanics company with a specialty in piping.

This new project in the institutional sector will also allow Le Groupe Jenaco to work with the general contractor Dalco for the first time. “We always find it motivating to establish good relationships with the various actors involved in a project right from the start,” said Mr. Turgeon, who advocates a collaborative way of working as soon as a contract is awarded.

The expansion work on this elementary school belonging to the Commission scolaire de la Pointe-de-l’Île (CSPI) is part of a major expansion program for nine schools in the school board’s network that has become necessary to cope with an obvious lack of space. This school board has welcomed more than 3,500 new students over the last 18 months.

A team of four to six people has been mobilized to complete all the plumbing, natural gas, and heating work by February 2020.
