Le Groupe Jenaco  has just been entrusted with the plumbing, heating, and gas contract as part of the project to build a new elementary school in Longueuil.

“We are happy to participate in another institutional project and to undertake a first close collaboration with the general contractor Groupe CIBS,” said founder and president of Le Groupe Jenaco, Jean Turgeon. “This is an opportunity to demonstrate our know-how to a new partner.”

The Centre de services scolaire (CSS) Marie-Victorin project has two phases. The first consists of demolishing the existing building located at 790 Quinn Street in Longueuil. The second will be the construction of the new school with a capacity of more than 500 students. The new building will have some twenty classes including four kindergartens for 4- and 5-year-olds, as well a gymnasium, an atrium, multipurpose rooms, collaborative spaces, an educational and community kitchen, an interior courtyard, and a space for the daycare.

The entire project, valued at $26 million, also includes landscaping the schoolyard where there will be an outdoor classroom, game modules, an athletics track, and a synthetic field. The finishing touch will be a plantation of trees.

Delivery of this new school is scheduled for December 2024. This institutional project brings together architecture professionals Barin and Ruccolo Faubert, landscape architect Turquoise Design, the engineering consulting consortium CIMA +, and gbi in addition to the CIBS Group as general contractor.

Our team of eight pipefitters should be starting work on this plumbing, heating, and gas contract in the spring.
