The site coordinator has the important responsibility of providing technical and administrative support to site foremen and project managers. He/she will contribute to the realization of construction projects in accordance with customers’ requirements and expectations.

Your role

Duties include working in constant collaboration with project managers and site foremen to ensure the control and coordination of the work. This person will be assigned tasks related to technical assistance, quality control, CAD and Revit design, coordination of work, administrative support, and the progress and compliance of work.

Here are some of the main tasks entrusted to the site coordinator, as an example:

  • Study, analyze, and manage the project’s various technical documents, including plans and specifications
  • Participate in meetings to provide solutions to the various problems encountered on construction sites
  • Create construction takeoffs on plans and on site for instructions, extras, and other needs
  • Organize checklists for the various stages of the project
  • Check the installation of mechanical equipment, finishing equipment, baths and showers, and all other elements in accordance with the plans (e.g. ., the right pump in the right place)
  • Modify the Revit model to adapt it to site conditions
  • Extract plan views from Revit to produce installation plans
  • Coordinate the delivery of special equipment to the site (pumps, exchangers, coolers, etc.)
  • Follow up on equipment deliveries a few weeks before scheduled delivery dates
  • Coordinate plumbing and piping plans according to the structural and architectural elements of the project as well as those of other electromechanical subcontractors
  • Assist the foreman and project manager with work orders, monthly invoicing, etc.
  • Support the foreman in interactions with the general contractor: weekly meetings, coordination meetings, etc.
  • Take photographs of all stages of the work on each floor and save them to the network on an ongoing basis
  • Make regular tours to document the progress of the work
  • Manage lists of deficiencies: take note of them, have them corrected, return the signed lists with comments
  • Document fixes with photographs
  • Perform all other tasks required for the site to run smoothly

Required profile

  • Relevant experience in construction and, more specifically, in building mechanics (plumbing, heating, piping) in the commercial, industrial, institutional, and heavy residential sectors
  • Knowledge of certain software including Microsoft MS Office, CAD, and Revit
  • Keen sense of organization and priority management
  • Adaptable, able to work independently, resourceful
  • Thorough with a concern for consistency to ensure a job well done
